Split Negative Classic Tech

This is a classic stamping technique, Split Negative. Stamp and emboss the same image in black on white, and white on black. Cut both images centrally in the same place and butt together the opposite images. End result is very effective for a relatively simple technique.
I have used one of my favourite stamps here, Agapanthus Cluster from Stampendous. The little greeting is from a Hero Arts clear set "Birthday Greetings".

Mums make .... the best mates!

Hi all,
I have been prodded enough now to get back up and posting ..... this card is one I made for my Mum last Mother's day! Or was it the one before last? The pic is of me and my Mum .... on my 21st birthday which was quite some time ago now, and also quite some time before the Mother's day in question (however it is one of my favourite photos of Mum and I). I made it black and white with a pink tint so it matched the card.

Papers are all Kaiser and the sentiment is hand written! No stamping in this one, I just realised. Ooops!

Christmas Baubles

Stamps: Lucy's Stamps "Decoration" 1895LH
Inks: Colorbox Fluid Chalk - Olive Pastel
Card/Paper: Bazzill Ivy, Paraket and Pomegranate, Antique Gold Metallic Card, Kaiser Christmas Countdown D/sided paper.
Other Stuff: Sea Foam Embossing Powder, Clear Rhinestones, Thin Burgundy Ribbon

Now that classes are over for the year, I had better get stuck into Christmas Cards. This is an easy one. The central panel is an Christmas decoration embossed with white on white card and then sponged over with Olive Pastel Chalk Ink, which matches the Countdown paper perfectly. Round corners and layer onto Pomegranate card, punch holes and tie thin burgundy ribbon into a bow at front before mounting onto card with 3d foam tape. The Countdown paper layers are decorated with randomly placed rhinestones.

This is a very layer intensive card and some of the ladies in class couldn't bear to cover up so much card by creating these fine layers. I love the effect, but was thinking that I would not waste so much card with the layers by cutting out the centre sections of the layers with nestabilities rectangle set and using Krylon pen to create a faux gold layer.

The great thing about the Kaiser d/sided paper is flipping it over and using the reverse pattern gives a totally different look .... the card below is the same design, but using the reverse pattern.

Dream, Discover ....

Front flap of a three fold card, made for a friend's wedding anniversary recently.

Stamps used: Hero Arts Quill Sentiments "Dream and Discover" and "Cherish Life's Moments"
The little leaf sprig background is an unknown unmounted stamp.
Inks: Colorbox Fluid Chalk Inks in Azurite, Tangerine, Peach Pastel, Ice Blue, Prussian Blue and Blue Iris
Card Stock: White Matt Card, Bazzill Typhoon
Other stuff: Cuttlebug Flower die, Nestabilities Ovals, Corner Rounder, Natural Jute String, Eyelets, White paper flower (coloured with Prussian Blue)

Where on earth I came up with blue and orange as a colour scheme, I will never know! Not the easiest two colours to blend. I used the colorbox blending tool to colour the whole background, which looks very patchy in the scan but is softer in real life, possibly I should stick to my normal sponges from now on!!

The flower was created from scratch using a Cuttlebug Die of a single large flower, sponged with blue ink, then a white paper flower, also coloured with a blue ink. The centre of the flower is made by winding the jute string around into a coil. This was incredibly difficult for me .....glue on my fingers, string kept sticking to my fingers, comical to watch. It is a great effect though and I am sure those with more nimble fingers would make a better job of it.

This is the second flap of the card, same flower, slightly different string embellishment ....again, fiddly, but effective.

And the final inside flap below.

Acetate Overlay

This is a creation from earlier this year using an acetate overlay stamped with flourishes in Stazon Opaque Mellow Mint ink. The Stampin' Up image is coloured with Prisma pencils and sits underneath the acetate, while the small mint flowers and diamantes are adhered on top of the acetate. Cheers Cheryll
